Unlike most cities in Europe, Hong Kong’s not really known
for its alfresco dining scene, but there are still some great
spots in town for open-air eating; we’ve highlighted some of
the best of them here.
#1 Aberdeen Street Social at PMQ
is a classy two-storey venue overlooking
Hollywood Road. There’s a large garden
area and it’s easy to forget that you’re in
the middle of Central! Bring the kids for
brunch – but remember to book!

#4 Spices at The Repulse Bay serves
authentic Asian cuisine in a pretty
garden setting – think palm trees and
tropical flowers. It’s a great place for a
bite of lunch before hitting the beach.

#7 Épure is another exquisiteEuropean
experience, with light, seasonal French
dishes on the menu. The outdoor area
is a modern French garden overlooking
the harbour, and is pretty special by day
or night.

#5 Duddells is a Michelin-starred fine-
dining venue that’s synonymouswithclass
and sophistication. It also has a divine
outdoor terracewhere you’ll want to spend

OUT OF TOWN
#8 One-ThirtyOne overlooks Three
FathomsCove in one of themost beautiful
parts of Sai Kung. The restaurant offers
French fareusing seasonal, local produce,
and has a garden and a private dock; you
can arrive by taxi, boat or even helicopter.

#9 Lantana is a bit of a local secret
on Lantau island’s Cheung Sha
Beach. It’s easy, all-day dining with
pizza, pasta and salad. Throw in a
glass of rosé and it’s the ultimate
summer date-night.
40 Cheung Sha Lower Village, Cheung Sha,
Lantau | 5465 5511 #6 Al Molo brings a little piece of New
York to Kowloon, and any time of day
has a pretty spectacular view of Hong
Kong island. The name means “at the
dock” in Italian, entirely appropriate for
this restaurant by the sea.

#2 DiVino Patio serves up rustic Italian
fare, perfect for those days when you
really do want an authentic European
experience. If you squint your eyes and
inhale the garlic bread you could almost
be in Milan…

#3 Isola at IFC is a bit of an institution.
It’s thego-to for special occasions or lunch
